The Tom Curtin Horsemanship and Colt Starting Clinics have been canceled.
Tom looks forward to seeing you all in 2012!
For the past several years, Hy Court Farm has hosted renowned horseman Tom Curtin each fall for Horsemanship and Colt Starting clinics. We are pleased to bring Tom back in 2011 from November 4-6. More information about Tom is available on his website.
Tom Curtin is a great teacher who enjoys working with people as much as he enjoys working with horses. In a Horsemanship class, Tom will give the class several maneuvers to work at so that each rider can experience feel, timing, and balance at his or her own level. He tries to help each rider get together with their horse, to become one with their horse, in a quality balanced relationship.
Tom Curtin feels it is a great honor when someone comes to him to start their colt. He takes this trust in his abilities seriously. Tom likes to get the riders and their horses as far along as possible so that they may succeed in any discipline they choose to go into. Whether it be riding down the trail, working cattle or competing in a show, Tom knows that if you have the fundamentals you will be prepared to have a balanced, working relationship with your horse.
Tuition for colt starting is $500, and horsemanship is $450. Auditing is $25 per person per day. A limited number of overnight paddocks are available for $35 per night, and day pens are $15 per day.
